As the self-styled Entertainment Capital of the World, it’s no surprise that there is a bewildering number of shows in Vegas, all vying for your attention – but this fierce competition also means that the quality of the performances on offer is usually extremely high.

The Las Vegas comedy circuit is no exception, so if you want to spend an evening being entertained by a line-up of hilarious stand-up comedians, you have several excellent options – and here are our recommendations for where to head for a comedy club in Las Vegas.

1. LA Comedy Club

Located in the Dragon Room at the STRAT at the north end of the Strip, the LA Comedy Club features a range of well-known and up-and-coming comedians. The club offers at least one show nightly, with some nights hosting multiple shows. For full listings, check the official site.

One of the highlights is the 8pm National Professional Touring Headliners show that takes place every night and features comedians who have appeared on HBO, Comedy Central, Showtime, NBC, Netflix and others.

This award-winning comedy club prides itself on also giving the stage to breakout comics, who in the past have included the likes of Aziz Anazari, Felipe Esparsa, and Loni Love – so it’s a great place to discover new stand-up talent before they become famous.

The comedy club holds a small audience of only 270, making for a more intimate experience, and along with general admission, the club offers VIP and VIP + all-you-can-drink options.

Entry is reserved for over-18s only.

  • Location:  The Dragon Room at The STRAT Hotel, Casino and Skypod
  • Time: Nightly, shows vary depending on the day
  • Price:  General admission $39.95 plus taxes and fees
  • Age restrictions: 18+

Originally opening its doors in 2012, Brad Garrett’s Comedy Club moved to its new location on the main floor in MGM Grand in 2021.

It now offers some of the best comedy in town in a classic 1920s-style theater, providing a memorably intimate experience in elegant surroundings.

Although Brad Garrett only performs on a few nights each month, the rest of the nightly shows feature a range of established entertainers and hand-picked up-and-coming talents chosen by Garrett himself and his team. Details of lineups can be found on the site.

Along with the quality of the comedians, the venue itself is exceptional, and you’ll be hard-pushed to find a classier or more comfortable place in Vegas to enjoy a night of stand-up entertainment.

This place might be a bit pricier than other comedy venues, but it consistently ranks among the most popular in town – so if you don’t mind paying a bit more for your laughs, this is a comedy club to consider. 21s and over only.

  • Location: MGM Grand Hotel and Casino
  • Time: 8pm nightly
  • Price: Regular starting price $59.99 plus taxes and fees

Curated and designed by Las Vegas local Jimmy Kimmel, an evening spent in this comedy club is among the best value on offer anywhere in Vegas.

Featuring an attractive showroom that can hold up to 300 guests and a bar serving expertly mixed cocktails and high-end casual cuisine, the whole place is set up to make you feel as comfortable as possible as you settle in for an hour or so of gags and hilarity.

The kind of artists you can expect to see include the likes of Vicki Barbolak, a top 10 finalist on season 13 of “America’s Got Talent”, and Luenell, a comedian and actress who appeared in “Borat”, “A Star Is Born” and “Hotel Transylvania” among others.

Although age restrictions vary from show to show, most performances are not intended to be family-friendly, and entry is reserved for those aged 18 and above unless otherwise stated. Full details for each show can be found on the official website.

  • Location: LINQ Promenade
  • Time: Tue 8pm, Thu-Sun 8pm, 10pm – and an extra show at midnight on Sat
  • Price: From $20 plus taxes and fees

Previously named “Best Comedy Club in Downtown Vegas”, Delirious describes itself as “classic stand-up comedy…meets a not-so-traditional line-up of comics, talents and acts of all colors”.

Lineups there include celebrity special guests, along with a rotating cast of some of the best upcoming talent around. Details of full lineups are available on the website.

Stand-up performances take place every evening from Thursdays to Sundays at 8pm and 10pm. Furthermore, the House of Magic comedy magic show also runs on the same days at 6pm, with the tagline “serious magic, not taken seriously”.

In addition, the club boasts its own bar that serves drinks and snacks, so you won’t go hungry of thirsty during the show.

This comedy club has no enforced age restrictions, but the comedians there tend to deal with adult themes – and often use some fairly industrial language – so 21+ is recommended, and minors are required to be accompanied by an adult.

  • Location: The Downtown Grand Casino and Hotel
  • Time: 8pm & 10pm Thu-Sun, House of Magic 6pm Thu-Sun
  • Price: General admission $39.95 plus taxes and fees

Small and intimate with an old-school vibe, Laugh Factory at Tropicana is considered one of the top comedy clubs in Vegas, if not the whole country, and it regularly plays host to big-name comedians while also showcasing more undiscovered local talent.

Full details of who you can expect to see on specific nights are available on the site.

General admission ticket prices are reasonable for Vegas but expect to pay more when a big-name comedian is due on stage. VIP and VIP booth seating is also available in the venue.

As you’d expect, there’s a bar serving refreshments, and although humor is very much a matter of taste, most people who visit enjoy the acts, making this another place to consider if you’re looking for an evening of laughs in Sin City.

  • Location: Tropicana Las Vegas
  • Time: Daily, 8:30pm, 10:30pm
  • Price:  General admission $37.95 plus taxes and fees – more for famous names

Comedy Cellar is a renowned New York comedy club that’s been running for 37 years and counting, and they’ve now transplanted the whole experience to Vegas by building an exact replica of the New York venue in the Rio Hotel.

The club specializes in blending top stars of the circuit with newer faces from the scene. Rather than a long one-hour stand-up performance like you’ll find in most places, the show is broken down into five 20-minute sets, all woven together by an expert and amusing MC.

Full details of upcoming acts are shown on the website.

With tickets starting at only $25 for general admission, this is one of the best value comedy experiences to be had in town.

In addition, they serve some great food, offering a full dinner menu, and the kitchen even boasts its own wood-burning oven, making it a great place to enjoy a tasty meal accompanied by a side of hearty laughs.

  • Location: Rio Hotel
  • Time: Daily, 7:30pm & 9pm
  • Price: General admission from $25 plus taxes and fees
  • Age restrictions: Not specified

7. Las Vegas Live Comedy Club

One of the newest arrivals on the Las Vegas comedy circuit – but one that’s already making a big name for itself – Las Vegas Live Comedy Club provides an exciting evening out that will have you laughing the whole time.

Lineups on the night include the best comedy talent from New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston and, of course, Las Vegas, and these acts are joined by resident headliner Edwin San Juan.

Unusually in Vegas, audience participation in this club is expected and more or less encouraged.

The venue itself is an intimate affair, and tickets are reasonably priced. The website states that general admission is usually $109.98, but that reduced tickets are now available for $49.99, including fees.

However, this seems to be more of a ploy to make the ticket prices seem more attractive – the reduced price of $49.99 is in line with other Vegas comedy clubs and is the kind of thing you should expect to pay.

  • Location: Miracle Mile Shops inside Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino
  • Time: Daily, 9pm
  • Price: General admission $49.99 including fee
  • Age restrictions: Not specified

FAQs

How Do You Choose a Comedy Club?

Choosing a comedy club is a little different to choosing any other show because not only do you have to choose a venue, but you also have to choose the comedy acts you’re going to see – and you might not be familiar with the comedians who are performing.

One way to do it is just to choose a place to go on the reputation of the club and the type of acts they usually book. However, this can lead to disappointment, because you might just end up watching comedians you don’t enjoy.

Another way to go is to do a bit of research on the acts who are performing by watching some of their material on YouTube. This will give you a better idea of who you are going to see, helping you choose comedians who suit your sense of humor.

Of course, the downside of this is that if you watch some of the acts’ more recent material, you might end up hearing a lot of the same jokes, which won’t be much fun either.

In the end, there are no guarantees with comedy clubs because humor is so personal and subjective, so an act somebody else finds hilarious might just leave you feeling cold.

So perhaps the best advice is to pick one of the venues from our list that seems to appeal to you and then turn up with an open mind and a sense of humor – and just allow yourself to be entertained.

Are You Allowed to Heckle?

Most comedy clubs in Vegas have a no-heckling policy, and if you try to heckle the acts, you will quickly find yourself ejected from the venue without a refund.

What’s the Dress Code?

Most Vegas comedy clubs allow you to wear whatever you like, with no strict dress code. However, you’re always better off checking the specific information on the website of the club you’re planning to attend to make sure you don’t turn up in the wrong attire.

How Long Does a Comedy Show Last?

The normal duration of a comedy show is from around an hour to ninety minutes, although the exact timings depend on the performers.

In general, you will usually see two or three acts during this time, although notably, the Comedy Cellar has shows featuring more comedians performing shorter sets.

Plenty of Popular Comedy Venues to Choose From

As we’ve seen, Vegas has no shortage of comedy clubs to pick from, so if you’re looking for somewhere to spend the evening enjoying a few drinks and a lot of laughs, you’ll be spoiled for choice. And now with our guide, you’ll have a better idea of where to go for a giggle.
