The Deuce Las Vegas: Routes Map, Price, Tickets

Getting around Las Vegas is always a consideration when you are planning your trip. Your selections are influenced by your budget and destination. If you are moving over long distances, a taxi or Uber, or even Lyft can be a better fix than the train. The same goes if you are moving within the Strip.

Bus drives or deuces are a common feature in the city. They are operated by the municipal authority offering the most affordable trips in Vegas, and they are quick and available. If you want to save more, then buses are your option, no buts about that.

The double-decker city buses are run by the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC), a municipal authority responsible for the smooth sailing of the buses and fare moderation to passengers riding the buses. The buses run 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They are a dependable transportation channel while in the city.

Deuce Bus Fare

The RTC aims to make transportation within the city accessible and affordable. As a result of this regulation, fares are usually well cushioned and cheaper than a taxi. It is one of the cheapest transportation modes within the city and a suitable one to tour the Vegas Strip. Amazing views, aerated interior, and fair pricing is the ultimate price riding the deuce.

The fare for the bus is $6 for a regular 2-hour pass, an $8 ticket valid for 24 hours, and the $20 3-day pass.

All passes are valid for the period stated starting from the time it was bought. If you buy a 2-hour $6 ticket, its validity expires after two hours.

So when should you buy the ticket?

There is nothing as bad as buying a ticket, and it runs out of use before you can use it. To avoid this, make sure that your purchasing time falls within the caped period of the ticket. Buying such a ticket 5-15 minutes before you travel is always ideal.

Also, take into account the waiting time at the deuce stop, an average of 20 minutes. Conclusively, you should buy a ticket when you are ready to travel. That way, you can use the pass for several stops as long as it’s valid.

Residents of Nevada State can buy discounted 5-day or 30-day ticket passes to travel in the RTC deuce service. You must have a valid ID to qualify for these passes. Children under five accompanied by adults also will not be charged a ticket fee.

Deuce Bus Tickets

Deuces are boarded using the ticketing system. You can pay for passes at the bus or prior in a Ticket Vending Machine (TVM). The advantage of buying a TVM ticket is that your boarding time is saved significantly. You can also get the comfort of boarding without the hustle if you have enough change.

Both the TVM and the bus driver accept exact change. They are not able or are not allowed to give you change, so better you carry money that fits the pricing.

The TVMs can accept bills and coins. You can also use your Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, or debit cards to pay for the passes. The machine will only accept bills: $1, $5, $10, and $20 with no change back. So if you want to buy a $6 ticket, you will need a $5 and a $1 bill. Again, these tickets are valid from the time of purchase.
