MGM Resorts
MGM Resorts, the owner of a large number of hotels and casinos in Vegas, is one group that offers a range of discounts for locals.
In terms of hotel deals, the group is currently offering discounted prices on rooms in the iconic MGM Grand and The Signature hotel.
As well as cheaper rooms in some of the group’s hotels, a range of other benefits are open to Nevada residents.
The Compliments of the Chef program gives residents priority reservations and preferred seating along with a free dessert in selected restaurants in MGM resorts.
Discounts of 20% on spa treatments are offered from Monday to Thursday, and the MGM Grand Salon also offers discounts to locals from Sunday to Thursday.
Great discounts can be had by locals at Topgolf in the MGM Grand, and finally, if you’re planning to tie the knot locally, MGM also offers 10% discounts on wedding packages.

Caesars Entertainment
Along with MGM, Caesars Entertainment is the other major player in Vegas, with the majority of Las Vegas resorts being owned by one of these two giants.
Caesars currently offers a 10% room rate discount to locals on all Las Vegas properties.
Furthermore, they also offer a range of reductions on other services and activities in Vegas.
For example, locals can expect to receive a 20% discount for spa and salon treatments in Caesars properties. There’s a 15% discount on cabanas and daybeds, and if you want to get married in a Caesars property, locals can score a 20% discount on packages.
Certain shows are also on sale with a 10% discount for locals, and attractions such as the High Roller Observation Wheel and the Fly LINQ Zipline offer 20% reductions for local residents.
Finally, there are also some interesting dining deals such as half-price wine on Tuesdays for locals at Old Homestead Steakhouse and free local brew on tap with the purchase of a burger entrée at Gordon Ramsay Burger, also on Tuesdays.

SAHARA Las Vegas
SAHARA Las Vegas has some attractive offers for Nevada residents to encourage them to book a staycation at the resort – and at SAHARA, you get to choose the promotion that best suits you.
For the first option, you can choose for the resort fee to be waived, representing a saving of $37.95 per day.
As a local, you can expect to be given the best available rates in the hotel, and other perks include late checkout at 1pm, usually worth $25. You’ll also be entitled to complimentary self-parking for the duration of your stay, although this is offered to all guests at the hotel.
The second option is that instead of having the resort fee waived, you can choose to receive a daily $50 resort credit that can be spent at participating outlets in the resort.
You’ll also receive a free automatic upgrade to the Marra Tower, worth $15 a day – along with all the other perks included in the first option.

Station Casinos
Perhaps some of the best accommodation deals for locals are available at hotels owned by the Station Casinos group as part of their StaCation promotion.
With this offer, locals can enjoy the best possible rates available, and hotel resort fees are also waived – which can add up to some fairly significant savings.

At OYO Hotel and Casino, locals can benefit from a 30% discount on room rates in the resort along with a discounted resort fee of $27 (the regular resort fee is $41.95 per day).

So why do some Vegas resorts offer such advantageous promotions to locals?
It’s tempting to imagine that they do it because they want to give something back to the local community, but the real reason is probably a little more cynical.
The fact is, the main hotels, resorts and casinos in Vegas are geared up for collecting the tourist dollar, and tourists spending a few nights in Vegas expect to spend quite a bit of cash during their time in town.
However, since locals can go to Vegas much more easily whenever they choose – and because there are many cheaper alternatives available to them – the resorts know that locals are much less willing to pay standard tourist prices.
However, if they can be coaxed into town to spend their money gambling in the casinos, locals are still a potential source of revenue, so some resorts offer promotional deals to attract them.
That way, even though they might pay a little less for their hotel rooms, and they might receive a few discounts in restaurants or spas, they’re still coming to Vegas to spend their money. And that’s still a revenue stream that’s worth cultivating.
How Do You Qualify for A Locals’ Promotion?
If you’re a Nevada resident, you’ll need to bring valid ID to benefit from the promotions.
This usually means a valid Nevada driving license, a government-issued Nevada ID card or a Nevada Sheriff’s card.
In general, for promotional rates at restaurants, spas and other attractions, a Nevada ID is required for each person – people from out of town will still have to pay full price, even if the person booking is a local.
However, if you are staying in a hotel room, if the person booking is from Nevada, it shouldn’t matter where the other guests are from.
When arriving at the hotel or when purchasing or collecting tickets, make sure you bring all necessary ID cards or you may find you are unable to benefit from the promotion.
