If you are looking into the STRAT Las Vegas parking, then there is a good chance you are here because you want to know if the Stratosphere offers free parking.
Unfortunately, the Strat Hotel, Casino, and Skypod (formerly the Stratosphere) introduced paid parking on April 3rd, 2023, making it the latest Strip hotel to eliminate free parking. Before the announcement, STRAT Las Vegas only charged for only 10% of their top-end parking spaces.
The prices of those 10% best parking spaces now apply across the board to all parking spaces. The starting price is $6 for the first 4 hours, and valet, which also used to be free, now starts at an $18 daily flat fee.
This complete guide to parking at the STRAT dives into the new development at the hotel. Read on to learn of the parking rates, where to park, and why parking at the STRAT is still a better option than many near-the-Strip hotels.

Free parking at the STRAT Hotel, Casino, & Skypod used to be a beloved perk, a perk that became rarer to find in Las Vegas as the years went by.
An argument can be made for the fact that many locals loved the STRAT, particularly for the free parking, despite the many attractions in the hotel, including the breathtaking observation deck, the northern end resort pales compared to the nearby southern end places.
A recent change has happened in Vegas over the past few years, particularly around the South Strip, where all free parking places are slowly being replaced with paid parking. MGM Properties was the first to announce, and other properties like Caesars Entertainment Resorts followed suit.
The STRAT Hotel quietly introduced their paid parking at the start of April 2023.
The hotel did not officially announce this through its website but rather through posters that were put up on the entrances to the parking area. Imagine thinking you will park for free only to be hit with the paid parking sign out of nowhere.
Reasonably, many did not take it kindly and went online to voice their dismay. As reported by Travel Scholar, the disappointment further raised complaints when guests found out a credit card fee was charged on top of the new parking rates. You must also scan a QR code on your phone to enter the self-parking garage.
Regardless of the change, the STRAT hotel remains one of the cheapest places to park in Las Vegas. Other nearby resorts have fees that start at $12, $15, or $18, which are more than the STRAT asks for.
If you want cheaper parking, then take a look at near the Strip areas that still offer free self-parking, including South Point Hotel & Casino, Virgin Hotels Las Vegas Curio Collection by Hilton, The Orleans, Ellis Island, Palms, Red Rock, Rio All-Suite Las Vegas.
Hooters are also one of the places that still refuses to charge its customers for parking. However, as seen with the STRAT, even the most obscure parking spaces can succumb to the pressures of paid parking; it may be a matter of time before it is the norm.
STRAT Hotel Parking Fees
The STRAT did not abruptly remove their complimentary parking. It started slowly a few years ago with its premium parking spaces (about 10% of its total parking space).
Around a dozen prime parking spots on every level, conveniently situated near the elevators and the path leading to the casino, were priced at $6 for the first four hours.
The pricing scheme for the previous premium parking spaces was adopted for the entire parking lot, culminating in implementation of the current paid parking system.
Valet parking was also free, but it has always been customary to tip.
Please remember that the paid parking system applies to hotel and non-hotel guests.
Self-parking charges at the STRAT are as follows:
- Monday – Thursdays (weekday): $6 for 0 – 4 hours, $12 for 4 – 24 hours, and a daily maximum charge of $12.

Do Any Las Vegas Casinos Have Free Parking?
Free parking is a rare perk in any Las Vegas hotel or casino. Some of the free parking hotels, casinos, and places in Las Vegas include the Wynn & Encore Hotel & Casino, Treasure Island, Sahara Las Vegas, Venetian & Palazzo resort, Circus Circus, Tropicana Hotel & Casino, Trump International Hotel, Shops at Crystals, Shoppes at Mandalay Place, and Fashion Show Mall.
You can also get free parking in many paid-parking casinos for only one hour since they start charging their customers after the first hour of parking. Also, Nevada residents with valid ID can get up to 3 hours of free parking at many of the Vegas casinos.
Joining the casino’s rewards/loyalty program also grants you complimentary parking privileges using card memberships. Some of the free parking rewards card membership programs include M Life Rewards, Caesars Rewards, Wynn Red Card, Genting Rewards, B Connected, Cosmopolitan Rewards Program, and Downtown Grand Rewards.
The introduction of paid parking to STRAT Las Vegas came as a disappointment for many guests who loved their free parking. However, it is still a cheaper parking space compared to other hotels & casinos that charge more than twice the STRAT’s amount.
